A fan edit of Ryan Coogler’s Creed (2015), cut by Areq (@areqaep) and posted to TikTok in July 2025. With more than 19 million likes and 200 million views, the edit exploded on the platform, whilst also being noticed by Michael B Jordan (Creed actor) himself.

In its stead, 29% surge in official digital viewership, according to Nerdist. Major film studios took notice of its massive organic engagement. Notably, Lionsgate explicitly adapted their digital strategy because of it, actively hiring TikTok fan editors to recreate the same platform-native, high-pacing style to market their own upcoming theatrical releases. Despite the huge wave of engagement, Areq reportedly generated no revenue for the edit, having not been signed up for TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program.
